ER Visit

I forgot to add this. I had to take Ava to the ER early this morning. She started running a fever yesterday, but she is also teething and she is a horrible teether. I didn't think much of it because of the teeth. So I gave her some Tylenol and let her relax. Well come this morning her fever still hadn't broke and her stridor (from her subglotic stenosis) sounded HORRIBLE. I called and of course take her to the ER.

I was worried that she would come home sicker than she already was. To my surprise they were having an inspection done....this was to our benefit. We went straight to the room. The Dr was in within 5 mins. Went for chest xrays within 30 mins, and had her urine taken within an hour. Not too bad huh?! I was worried she had RSV. I was convinced. The whole way to the Hospital I was crying blaming myself for even taking her out of the house. When I knew I shouldn't have. Come to find out she has Croup along with a viral infection. They gave her some Tylenol. They also gave her Decadron to keep the swelling in her airway down. Hopefully she'll be alright and not have to go down for any breathing treatments. She is already doing a lot better. She finally started eating and drinking again. She looks 100% better.

While we were down there I was talking to the Doc, who was completely amazed that she was a 24 wk triplet and hasn't had to be hospitalized again. He told me that, that is unheard of. Then he told me a few horror stories and said we should give ourselves a huge pat on the back and keep praying that they stay healthy. I told him, yes were very lucky, but I don't think it was because of us that they have stayed healthy. He just smiled, gave me a nod and a pat on the back and walked out of the room.

Oh by the way he also told me to watch out the boys will be next!!! Yay fun times at our house!!!

Oh, the croup is horrible yet alone in a baby. Yet alone in 3 babies. My 3 had it in October, and yes, all three will get it. Despite our valiant efforts to contain it, they ALL got it. Hang in there while she recovers.
