updates

We had our NICU follow up appt yesterday. We had good and bad news. The babies have been diagnosed as Failure To Thrive (FFT) Now we have to add heavy cream to all bottles, can't serve veggies without cheese or sauce, everything has to have a high fat butter or just full of fats. Great huh? I know they need to out weight on etc, but at the same time I'm really worried about all of this.

Good news they have been taken off formula, but put on PediSure for more calories. I wonder how hard it's going to be to get them to eat healthy when their older if they get to eat nothing but junk and fat now. The doctors don't seem to worry too much. Delaney's Dr has said she's overweight at 42" tall and 36 lbs. So she can't eat anything like that, but now she will have to watch the babies eat all kinds of yummy stuff. This is gonna be real fun, and how can I tell her she can't have it? Sorry kid the Doc says your fat? That will NEVER happen. The other day Delaney was getting ready to brush her teeth and she stopped and was looking at the label, then she asked me how many calories were in toothpaste. Are you kidding me?!

Some updates for ya.

Please keep him in your prayers, lets hope and pray he finds something soon. It's only been 2 days and Lord knows, thats 2 days too long for Greg.

bad day

So today is Ava's one year home, and I did take a few pics. I still haven't had a chance to upload them yet. Today Greg was laid off. Nice huh?! He's been there 10 years and just like nothing they let him go, due to our wonderful economy. I am really nervous, I'm not too sure what we're going to do. Nothing in his field is hiring. I guess Construction just isn't the place to be right now. I'm worried about our health insurance. I know we can get cobra for the time being, but holy cow, do you know how much that costs? Now factor in 4 children, 3 of which are premature triplets. Wonderful. I should get those pics up tomorrow.

1 yr down

1 year ago today after 131 days in the NICU, Dylan was the 1st of the triplets to come home. Can you believe it's been a year already?

When Dylan came home he weighed just a hair over 5 pounds. He now weighs a bit over 16 pounds. Dylan is getting so big. He has 8 teeth and molars on their way. He is walking at a very high speed, it won't be long before he's running. He can say some basic words, and he eats like a moose! He is a bit behind developmentally, but no where near where we had originally thought he would be. Given he was born 16 weeks early and weighed 1 lb 3 oz, it could be much more severe.

Here are some pictures of our lil man Dylan.

Here is Dylan 1 year ago, and Today. Look how much he has grown!

Dylan is the Brut of the bunch. He has a few pounds on the other 2, and he sure lets everyone know it.

He is also the biggest baby you'll ever meet. He's the type that can dish it out, but can't take it when it's being given to him.

He's my buddy, he is always at my feet looking to see what he can get into!

Dylan is a HUGE flirt, and loves any girl with brown hair. He has this charm about him, and he knows how to use it. Dylan is such a good baby, I couldn't imagine life without him.

few more

Here's a few more from Easter and a few from Delaney's kindergarten screening. I can't believe she's going to kindergarten. What the heck am I going to do without her all day long?

I love how Dylan is not going to take his eyes off the big mean bunny! =)

easter updates

Saturday Greg and I attempted to put the new floor down. We just don't work well together. It's almost completely done now, and it looks so much better than our old yucky wood floor. Here is a few pics of the progress. The 1st picture is of Ryan, right before we started we realized that he wore a pink sleeper to bed the night before.
*It's ok Ryan, real men wear pink =)*

Here are Easter Pictures as promised. We tried to get a picture of all of us at the Church, but the babies just weren't having it. Greg and I dropped the babies off at my Mom & Dad's for a bit, so we could try and finish the floor. AT least that was the plan. When Greg and I got home, he worked on the floor and I took a 2 hour nap. It was so nice to have an empty house and a nap!

I think may be my favorite.

Ryan, Easter morning, he was so happy to have a basket!

Sleepyhead Dylan showing off an egg. Yes, that is a girls Christmas sleeper. I guess that's what happens when you let the laundry go for a few days.
*Sorry Dylan, it could be worse though. You could have been wearing pink like your brother, the day before.*

Ava

Nice hair Delaney.
Delaney woke up Easter morning and snuck into the living room, went through her basket and the triplets baskets, then came and woke us up. So I missed getting pics of her cute surprise face. =(

My surgery went well! I did find out that I am allergic to an antibiotic they put in the IV, but other than that it was good. I was pretty much out of it Monday and Tuesday I was pretty sore, but I feel pretty good now. I still have to pass the fragments of stone that was crushed. I guess the stone was closer to the size of a quarter. Thank goodness it never tried to move!

Easter

Pictures from Easter are coming. My computer died. Big time died. So tomorrow Greg is dropping it off to the Geek Squad. It's a shame our 1 yr warranty just ended last month. So whenever we have a computer again, I will upload Easter pics.

Tomorrow is the big day....Surgery Day. Yuck. I am so not looking forward to this. Say a quick prayer for me and Greg (he's gonna have to take care of all 4, still coming down from the sugar buzz from today)

Watching Gordan from Sesame Street. We got to meet him after the show, but the picture with him I am in, and I look horrible so sorry you don't get to see it!

Meeting Sid the science kid. Greg did some butt kissin' and they let us go take the kids into the dressing room area and met him all by ourselves. You should have seen Delaney.

These are pictures from the Canton Mothers of Multiples Easter Party. The kids had so much fun!

another busy week

Mark this up as another busy week.

Monday, The house was getting completely rewired. Surgery pretesting. Then to court to fight the speeding ticket. Then out with Laura to a Mary Kay meeting/spa.

Tuesday, Electrician (Greg M) finishing up the electric.
-PS-Greg thanks so much for doing our rewire. I can't tell you how much we appreciate it! Then to a Mary Kay Meeting.

Wednesday, I took the kids to Belden Village Mall for pictures, by myself. Let me tell you how much fun that was. To start I went on the wrong day. I was supposed to go on Thursday, whoops. The girl there wasn't sure that they would be able to take the kids pics since they had one other customer there and 3 people working. I know 3 babies are hard, but I didn't even want them looking at the camera, just sitting on the floor looking at a bunny...easy enough right? Well all of a sudden it was this girls mission in life to get all 4 in an Easter basket smiling. I told her good luck and have at it. They had real bunnies, Delaney loved it. She wants a bunny so bad. Well all 3 babies were in the basket. Delaney was holding the bunny, Ryan could care less about the whole situation, Ava loved the bunny, and Big Bad Dylan was scared to death and crying over the cute lil bunny.

After pictures the photographer left the room. I was trying to clean up all the plastic eggs that the kids had all over the place, when I heard Ava laughing like crazy over in the corner. I glanced over and saw she was playing with an Easter Basket. So I went back to cleaning the mess. Something told me to look over at Ava again. i went over to see what the fuss was. The photographer left the bunny in the room, in a basket. The poor rabbit was trembling in fear from Ava. Ava had been ripping out handfuls of fur putting the fur up to her mouth and blowing it away and laughing. That poor rabbit. When Delaney caught wind of what was happening to the poor bunny named gizmo she freaked out. She started crying "Awww poor Gizzzzzzzmo" I returned the poor thing to its home safe out of the reach of babies, but still out where kids continually were poking their fingers inside. These poor little animals, I think that's a little cruel. That rabbit was one hot mess when Ava was done with her. I felt so bad for lil Gizmo.

Thursday, Spent the day trying to keep the 4 happy for our commerical shoot later. Children's Hospital asked us to shoot a promotion commerical for them. So we went and did our thing. I think when it airs it will look more like a birth control ad. The kids were teething and hungry...who shoots pictures and video at 5:30 with 15 month triplets and a 4 year old who are all starving???

Today I have another meeting for Mary Kay, then hopefully everything will slow down. I'm getting nervous about surgery Monday. I'm not scared of having it done. I'm worried about after, how long will I be down? I only have help for the day of surgery. Tuesday I'm on my own. The nice nurse at pretesting said "just call a friend to come help Tuesday" My thought was yeah, right, I'm sure they'll be racing to get here.

I will be posting pictures later, I just don't have the time at the moment. Check back!

weekly update

So this was a BiG week for us. There will be pictures coming soon.

Sunday we went to the Canton Mother's of Multiples Easter Party. Greg really wasn't that excited, actually he was dreading it, but after we left he told me he had a good time, and it was nothing like he had expected. We was however a bit creeped out when we first walked in the door. #1 he couldn't believe how many multiples there were. #2 Somebody recognized him by our blog, then the man also said he had seen Greg driving down the road (he remembered our licence plates) I found it pretty funny, Greg was freaked out. The kids all had a good time, even Miss dramatic Delaney who was upset she had to miss her nap and go have a good time, God forbid. They all say the Easter bunny and got lil gifts from him. The babies got a jar of carrots and a spoon, that was the cutest idea.

Monday was pretty laid back, except for the speeding ticket I received for going the speed limit after pulling out of my driveway. So next Monday I will be fighting that one in court. Seriously I had just pulled out of my driveway started to drive uphill following a friend of mine, who had just pulled out also. The police car was driving the opposite way, then waited to pull me over for a mile on a different road. He came to the window, didn't even tell me why I was being pulled over, all 4 kids were in the car, Delaney was upset that she was going to be late for dance. I got a ticket for 55 in a 35??? I asked to see the radar, he said he forgot to save it....BS, I wasn't going 55 after backing out of my drive and driving uphill following a friend. I will see his ass in court. And to think I voted to keep that police dept in our town....jerk!

Tuesday, Greg's cousin Neal had his tumor in his kidney removed, Greg was pretty freaked out all day. Turns out he did great!
The babies had their well baby check up and they were a year corrected Tuesday. Dylan has pink eye.

Wednesday, Delaney had her Easter Party at school, along with an Easter egg hunt. It was really funny to watch a bunch of 4 and 5 yr olds racing to find ONLY 6 eggs each.
Ryan had his hearing exam. He failed again. There is a definite hearing loss in his left ear. We were all hoping that after his last hearing test, last June that it was just the fluid blocking his hearing, guess not. I'm still a bit down in the dumps about it.
After the hearing test we had PT coming to the house and worked with the kiddos. They were amazed that Dylan is walking. Ryan is still a bit behind the others. He is at a 9-11 month level. Not too bad considering they were 4 months early.

Thursday, I went to the eye Dr for the yearly exam. I was told my eyes are stressed. Really? Just my eyes? ha! So I will be picking up my new eyes in 2 weeks.

Today, Friday, Bad day, I really don't want to talk about it. I will just say anything that can happen, has happened, and the house is a frickin mess.

I still feel really guilty about the babies being born so early. Especially when you go for a well baby visit and you hear they are developmentally delayed. Then a hearing test with a definite loss. I just wish they couldn't have stayed in a bit longer, by like 10 weeks. Delaney just turned on TLC and there's a lady pregnant with triplets who just had her babies at 34 or 36 weeks. And what about the lady with 8, she went 30 wks. I went 24. That's it. I feel like I am the cause to all their health problems and it seems like they are always going to have something going on due to their prematurity. I wish they would just outgrow all these issues. Some days it seems like it's never gonna happen.
