i'm leaving....

I leave tomorrow morning for Las Vegas. I am so excited, and nervous. I have never been away from any of the kids this long. Not to mention the plane ride has me a bit worried.

I did however find out some very interesting info. When we get there Saturday, we are staying in Plant Hollywood. Come to find out that afternoon they are taping......

2009 Miss America Pageant

Kind of exciting huh? Then I found out who the host is. Oh wow, I swear if I run into him I may NEVER come home. It's Mario Lopez. I used to watch Save by the Bell all the time. I had the biggest crush on that man!

mario lopez Pictures, Images and Photos

I swear Greg, if I run into him I may never come home. I betcha he'll come rushing over and sweep me off my feet. Then he'll tell me how much he loves kids and would love to be the Step Daddy to all my kids. I know that's a bit far fetched, but wouldn't it be grand. Well maybe not for you, but then again just maybe.
SO wish me luck! Maybe I'll hit it big.

pictures

Wow, two posts in one day...Man I'm on top of it. Here is Ryan's new trick. He can pull himself up to stand. The only problem is he forgets to hold on, and down he goes.

Here are some pics of the kiddos. I swear to get all 4 sitting, looking and smiling is darn near impossible. Goes back to our family motto....
"You get what ya get, and you don't throw a fit!"
So much for a cute picture of them all standing.

no rest for the weary

The babies therapist and their Intervention Specialist just left. They said Ryan looks so much stronger. I told her how I was still worried about CP, and she said she is not seeing anything that would point to that right now. Woohoo! That makes me feel a little bit better.

It's exciting to see them progressing. I can't believe how far they've come. Now if they would just sleep through the night.

Last night was probably one of the hardest night so far. Greg and I both went to bed around 10:30, which is extremely early for us. Good thing we did because at 1 am 3 kids started screaming. We thought we would try the cry it out method....yeah right. So Dylan is up, but wants to go back to sleep. The only problem with that is he sees to other babies that are up, and he doesn't want to miss a thing.

Ava is up and growling at everything. Then laughing, then smacking he brother Ryan in the head while he's sucking down a bottle on our bed. He starts screaming which Dylan hears from his bedroom, so he starts all over again. Now this went on until about 3 am. Then around 3:30-4am, Ryan is back up and screaming again. Now if you have ever heard Ryan's cry let me tell you it's awful. I think he's so much louder because of his hearing loss.

Note to Ryan....We all hear ya...even the neighbors hear ya. No need to get any louder. The only thing that's gonna earn ya is a swift kick and a grouchy Mom (just kidding, I don't kick my kids)

Well about 5 am everyone is finally in their own bed and asleep. Greg and I go back to bed. Then 5:30 Greg's alarm is going off. I jump up fall off the bed, race over to the alarm all the while my foot is still stuck in the sheet. I worked my butt off to get those kids to bed, I'm sure not going to let that stupid alarm wake them up. Greg doesn't want to get up. He keeps saying "I'm going" That's funny cause he didn't even sit up. He says I'm stretching. BS! Get outta bed! Then he tells me he's tired and he's not going to be able to move too fast today. So I give'em the warning....With one swift kick I can make you move pretty darn fast....Get Up!!!

Finally a nice big bed all to myself, everyones asleep. Peace at last. Yeah right. Thanks Greg for slamming the door on your way out. They were all back up again. SO today I have kept these babies up. Short naps, yes they are kind of cranky, but I swear their gonna sleep tonight! I am running on pure Mt Dew as of this point. I need a nap!!!

the united states of america

I try no to be too political, because the way I see it everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but today I think I must express mine.

If you watch any TV today all you hear is "The 1st Black, The 1st African American" Yes I think this is a very historic and great day for the African American community. I am glad that they finally feel like the world is changing for them. Seriously I think it would be exciting if the world could look at a person without seeing skin color.

But come on folks we live in the real world. Everyone thought that Obama would help to end the racism. Really??? Because everything on TV today seems to encourage it even more. Did the world forget that he is half white? If anyone would have said "Clinton, America's 42nd WHITE President" They would have been reprimanded, and declared a racist. So why is it now OK, Just because he's an African American.

In the words of Obama himself. "There is not a black America and a white America. There is the United States of America.' I wish this was the case.

A few moments ago on the Today show there was a gentleman speaking about Obama. He also described him as being a Prophet. Really, I don't see it. Especially since he hasn't even taken over the office yet. Everything on the TV is pointing to him being the "one" the one to change everything. I hope he does. I hope he can change this economy, this mess. But a "Prophet" No I would just call it a good president.

Personally I wouldn't care if the person to take office was red, yellow, green, purple or blue, as long as they could change the issues that plague America. I have to wonder, if a woman was taking office today OR a white Democrat, would America still be cheering them on? Or would it not even matter. If this many people would have came together before this maybe we could have changed something before now.

A few months ago, before the election, there was a video on YouTube. There was a person interviewing people on the issues that each president stood for. Without saying the names of the candidate. People were picking Obama without even knowing the issues, they were basing their opinions on race, their picks had nothing to do with how they would change our country.

Here is the link to the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCipmnYCKB0

So here's to you Obama,
I hope that you can change the things you said you can, I hope that you can fulfill your promise of hope, and not just have it be a hope.
And here's to Bush,
Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out!

game day

It's game day!!! The kids are all dressed in their Gold & Black, ready to cheer on our favorite team!

Delaney's in rare form already yelling "touch down" and the game doesn't start for another 2 hours.

I will be posting pics from the game later. For now I leave you with this.
I hope you can see the back of the truck.

thoughts & pics

I knew once I saw the NICU, and all the babies in there, that I would never be the same. I knew I would have images embedded in my brain forever. I can still remember the first time I was there. I will remember those images, and all those feelings for the rest of my life.

I never thought about the images haunting Delaney. I tried to keep her involved, so she would never feel left out. She never saw anything "bad" happen, but I still think she will have some of the same memories of those small babies. Now I'm not sure if I did the right thing having her there. I think I did, but I still have to wonder.

When the babies came home she would take her clear Rubbermaid totes and turn them upside down, with baby dolls inside. They were isolettes to her. There was one day she had a straw up to the baby's mouth. I thought she was just pretending the baby was drinking. I was wrong and was quickly corrected. They were the babies breathing tubes, and she was putting them back in. Still to this day she checks her babies for low heart rates. She says when she grows up she wants to be a Doctor and work at One Perkins Square...that's sad she knows the address of Children's Hospital. But you know she also says she wants to be a chef, a ballerina, a vet, and Sleeping Beauty.

Today she was playing with her doll house, when I noticed this....

I asked why the baby was in the grill. Corrected again, he wasn't in the grill. He was in Ryan's isolette with his Mommy and Big Sister visiting. It's things like this that make me think I really screwed her up. Hopefully she won't need to much therapy later in life! =)

Delaney pretending to be an Opera singer....whata dork! lol!

The babies destroying, I mean playing in the living room.

Ryan was sitting without support, for about 15 mins. Go Ry!

Dylan was playing tea party with Delaney. His poor legs were just sliding, but he refused to get down. He does this all the time. We call it the "split stand'

snow

Greg and I took Delaney sled riding for the 1st time Saturday. We all had a blast. However I did realize that I'm not as young as I once was. I woke up this morning crackin' & poppin'. My butt is full of bruises!

I dressed Delaney and Greg was telling me I was putting too many layers on. She had 5 pair of pants, 5 shirts, and 3 pair of socks. Then I borrowed a snowsuit from friends of ours. Of course Delaney's gloves and hat was no where to be found 10 mins before we left. Thankfully our friends had extras for her. The poor girl looked like Randy from the Christmas Story. She could barely bend her knees....but she was warm.

Greg on the other hand looked ridiculous. He has these ugly neon Green/yellow work T Shirts that he wears everywhere. I hate them, their awful, if they weren't work shirts I would throw them away. I don't know if he feels special or important with them on or what. So Greg gets dressed in his layers then puts the ugly shirt over top of his sweatshirt. I asked him why he felt the need to wear that ugly shirt. His reply was "So people can see me" Do you think they wouldn't? Now let me remind you that Greg is a 6' moose of a man, believe me people won't miss him.

During our sled riding adventure we all took some pretty hard falls. My tube collided with a group of people who stopped the tube, but didn't stop me....I went flying and did about 3 turns before landing on my face in the snow. Greg had a good one too...wait til you see the pics!!! Delaney had so much fun and can't wait to go again.

I took some pictures....but don't look directly at the shirt, you might go blind =)

See she looks like Randy from the Christmas Story, at Pats house before we went.

Me without make up is scary!!!

i did it

*This post deals with bras and weight...
So Dad or any other male can stop reading here.*

Since the birth of the triplets, nothing seems to be the same size, I mean nothing. Pants, shirts, bras, undies, coats, My hair ties are even smaller (too bad that's the only thing that's smaller!)

The day after Thanksgiving I went to Victoria's Secret to buy some new bras. The soft spoken teeny tiny girl working came over to measure me. She asked if I would like to go into a room or stay in the lobby. I was with a few friends and I really have nothing to hide (nor can I hide'em) so I figured hey what the heck, measure me here. She came over with that horrible insulting tape measure. She measured me. The nice soft spoken girl said with the LOUDEST voice possible, "I'm sorry we don't see your size in the store" WHAT??? "What size am I. She told me, but I'm not telling you. It's not bad, just bigger than I ever thought. I had just bought bras there in the spring, and I wasn't that size then.

Last night I went to Macy's to buy bras. I was kinda excited to see they had a really good sale going! I'm looking for the size I think I have, and the size the lady from VS told me I had. She was right. So I'm now looking for buffalo bras, and guess what...their ugly! There was 1 cute one. The rest looked like huge flesh colored hub caps with straps. I did find a few that I guess I could live with for now.

After my experience last night, I went to the YMCA today. I have to admit it was kind of intimidating. There were people in their 70's running wild everywhere. I went found the biggest treadmill ever, and hopped on like an old pro. Considering I have never been on one before I did a quick glance around to see what everyone else was doing. Since everyone else wasn't wearing the safety strap, I sure wasn't going to.

I then noticed that a friends husband was 3 treadmills down running faster than Forrest Gump. Great. I had no clue what all the settings were so I pushed 1 and had at it. Well it as too slow, so I turned it up just a bit. A few mins into my speed walk I thought it seemed to be going faster. I thought it was just my imagination, I kept thinking to myself man I'm outta shape. The more I thought about it the faster it seemed to go.

Holy Hell it was going faster!

Now I'm in a full blown run, about to fall on my face and slam into the old lady behind on the stair stepper! I was frantically trying to run and read at the same time. Finally I put my hands on the side and do this kinda funky jump/move and get my feet to the sides, then find the button I was looking for, Then looked around to find Yes, everyone did see it happen. The old man balancing his walker on the sides, and walking on his treadmill gave a bit of a cocky laugh and a roll of the eyes. I was embarrassed, but I did continue and finish.

I was really happy that I actually went. Now hopefully that's the worst that will happen, and I can drop this weight, and buy smaller shirts, pants and bras!

Wish Me Luck!!!

weight update

The not so nice nurse came today for the Synagis shots. I was half tempted to not salt the walk for her. Then I did some more thinking and since she was carrying alot of stuff (and I really don't feel like being sued) I salted it.

I can't believe how much ice was out there. When I left to take Delaney to school, I biffed it on the walk. I landed sideways on my elbow. Delaney said it was a good thing the ground was there to catch me. I am hurting from this one.

A few days ago I fell trying to get Delaney out of the car, it hurt like heck but it was funny. I had stuff in my left hand and went to unbuckle her with my right. Then my feet slid out from under me. When I did that I landed on my abs on the rocker panel (? I think that's what its called) I then looked like a seesaw for a few mins while trying to get back up.

Here's the current Tooth Tally & New Weights.

3 Teeth - 2 bottom & 1 top
Ryan

i'm leaving...

January 24th is the big day. I'm leaving. Going to.....
LAS VEGAS!!!
Woo hoo!
Friends of ours have a big dental convention, so they asked me to tag along. Free room woot-woot! We're staying in the new Planet Hollywood! I found round trip airfare for CHEAP. Oh I'm so excited...and nervous at the same time.

Greg is staying at home with the babies, and you know I'm not a bit nervous about that. I'm more nervous about being away from all the kiddos for 5 days. I am a bit scared of the plane ride too. I went to Vegas to visit my cousin about 8 yrs ago and that was the 1st time I was on a plane, and I was by myself. On the way back home we had some pretty rough turbulence. I was freaked! I haven't been back on a plane since. Now that I have children I a lil bit more nervous.

I gotta give a few Thank You shout~outs to make.

Thank you Greg for having no problem with me going, and insisting on me going. I really need a bit of a break. I promise if I hit it big, I'll share it with you. =)
Thank you.
I love you.

Shantel & Pat, Thank you for inviting me. It couldn't have come at a better time. You kguys didn't even have to offer me a bed...I would have slept the bathroom floor, LOL!!! =)
Love ya guys!
