mama's losing it!

Whoever said it would get easier needs to be shot! It doesn't get easier. This kids are crazy! They don't get along, they have the attention span of a nat, they fight, scream and bite, and all the sensory issues to boot. I think I'm gonna lose it.

I get very stressed out when my house is flipped upside down. My laundry is filling the basement, the dishes are constantly dirty, the house has toys everywhere. I read somewhere that "Cleaning up after triplets is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it" I couldn't agree more. That's all I do all day, pick up toys, put babies in timeout, and change diapers. I could just rip my hair out.

I think I need a night away. I need to find a Mommy's helper or a sitter...anyone know of one in the area? Greg and I haven't had time alone since the Cavs playoff game when Lebron hit that 3 pointer in the last second of the game...I have no clue how long ago that was, but I know it's been awhile. The stress of having 3 babies can really get to the 2 of us. I totally see why that Jon & Kate split. All the stress they were under and having the whole world weighing in on it. I know how hard it is just to have Inlaws let alone the whole world.

Speaking of Inlaws.....If you attend the same Church we do, I'm sure you heard that Dylan is running and speaking in sentences, Ava is doing the same and Ryan has outgrew all his problems and is talking in sentences, saying grandma & grandpa etc.....All of this couldn't be further from the truth! Ryan has started walking, but he is having some other major issues that is preventing him from talking and gaining weight etc. Ava is a pistol, who really never udders a word, let alone a sentence. Dylan is running and screaming all the time, and is having some sensory issues along with troubles with his bowels. All the babies are having trouble putting and keeping weight on. They are not on the growth chart and are falling further from it. They need all the extra fats for brain development etc, and we're having a hard time getting them to take it. Hopefully this Sunday we can make it there, so that we can give everyone an accurate update.

I guess it's time to get off the soapbox and get back to cleaning, since Ryan just decided that crackers need to be smashed into the carpet ARGH!

morning surprise

After Delaney went to bed tonight, Greg and I decorated the dining room for her birthday. Check it out. (don't mind the drywall mess we have gonna on) I think she'll love it. More to come tomorrow.....I can't believe my baby is going to be 5 tomorrow. =(

I love the rose. I just couldn't find the right vase, so I had to pull out the handy PartyLite vase. I think it turned out very pretty, I can't wait to see her face in the morning.

new addition

We have a new addition in our house! Don't you dare think it's another baby. Delaney got a Hamster.

Greg & I had a dog named Charlie. We got him 3 years before Delaney was born. He lived with us until the babies came home from the NICU. With all the babies health & breathing problems, we didn't feel that having Charlie around was the best for them. Greg's sister Heather took Charlie in for us. The plan was to take him for a year and then go from there. Well a year has come and it's still not a good idea to have him around. The kids still have issues, especially Ryan. Heather is gonna keep him a bit longer. Plus Charlie has a girlfriend now, so he may never come home again. Anyway, Delaney still talks about Charlie everyday, she always asks me if I remember how he used to sleep at the foot of her bed at night, or If I remember how he used to clean her crumbs off the floor, and on and on. She misses Charlie, but I tell ya her allergies have been so much better since he's been gone. She hardly ever has any issues now.

The past few months Delaney has been begging for a Hamster. Everyone that knows me knows how much I am against having a rat in the house. Well she finally broke me. Greg & I stopped in a pet store yesterday, just to look, and they had a teddy bear hamster in just the colors that Delaney wanted. Brown & Black and a bit of orange. So today Greg & I took her to get a Hamster. We had bought the cages at a yard sale about a month ago, and had them hid in the garage. She is so happy. I've never seen her this excited about anything.

When we brought him home, I sat on my knees with the box and opened it just enough that the babies could see inside. Ryan started yelling Rat-Rat. (I have to add that his favorite stuffed animal is a stuffed mouse Delaney got at Ikea) He wanted that Rat. Ava peeked inside and tried to dive in the box, my lil wuss Dylan backed up and wanted nothing to do with it.

While Greg was getting the cage set up, Delaney & I put him in the ball so the kids could have a look at him, VERY BAD IDEA!!! Dylan ran and grabbed the ball picked it up yelled ball and dropped it before I could get to him. All 3 babies were chasing after the ball Ava was laughing, Dylan was yelling ball, and Ryan was yelling Rat-Ball-Rat-Ball. It was crazy!!!

The poor rat is now all set up in his new home, high up on Delaney's dresser, where the lil ones can't get to him. It took Delaney about 2 hours to finally name him....so introducing

Mr. Leroy Tominson Hill,

but we'll call him Hammy, Ham or Hambone for short.

At least that's what Delaney says today, we'll see what is is tomorrow.

18 month check up

Last week was the babies 18 month check up. I forgot to post the update until today, sorry.

Dylan

17 lbs 6 oz.

Still not on the growth chart, but we're getting closer. They each had a Hep. A shot, which they weren't very happy about. Still holding out on the MMR till they weigh a bit more, and they get a lil older.

So yesterday Delaney and I was heading to a craft show, when it started to down pour. We tried to find something to do till the rain let up. We ran into a hair salon, and chopped my mop yet again. Why? Who knows I guess just something to do. When I cut it the last time it was at a weird length, I couldn't really do much with it.

Here's a picture of Delaney and her missing tooth. By the way the Tooth Fairy came and left her a tooth brush, and a dollar....I can't believe that the going rate is a dollar...all I got was quarters!

Delaney lost her 1st tooth Sunday. I was a bit freaked out, she just seems so young to be losing teeth already. I called the Dentist today and they assured me that she is fine. She did get her teeth pretty early and that's a good indication of how soon her teeth will fall out.

Tonight I gave her an envelope to draw on and put her tooth in, for the tooth fairy. She then asked me to help her write a letter to the tooth fairy. So here's what she had to say.

For awhile now the babies ped & EI's have been concerned that all the babies have some sensory issues. I know I have been really brief about it to everyone. The truth is I was still learning all about it and was having a hard time explaining it to others. It finally all "clicked" about a week ago, when I found a few websites that really helped me out. Each of the babies seem to have SI in different areas.

Ava- Has issues with swallowing certain textures, gagging, certain flavored foods, overly sensitive with pain, loud nosies, and corrections. avoids foods most would enjoy, poor attention.

Dylan- Has issues with pain, he really doesn't feel pain, He continually crashes/bumps/bangs into things, Is VERY active (he is never still) Avoids foods most would enjoy, craves intensive movements, Poor attention.

Ryan- is a bit of the opposite, he has issues with bedtimes, doesn't like to be held (only on occasions) Zones out, Avoids foods most would enjoy, gagging on certain foods, craves intensive movement, Poor attention, and is not aware of some body movements.

They are all being monitored closely by their EI, therapists, and Doc.

Greg and I just pray that God will continue to work his miracles and help them to overcome this hurdle.
