another update

I got a few mins do I will go ahead and get you updated....

After the dinner for the babies birthday Santa came to visit. Delaney was scared to death, which was weird because she LOVES Santa. Greg's cousin Neal dressed up and played Santa. He walked up on the front porch and looked in the window. Delaney saw him looked down at the floor and refused to lift her head. At first I just thought she was scared, because he was on her turf so to say. I found out later that earlier in the evening, my brother Andy had told Delaney that when he was little he was rotten and didn't get nothing but a lump of coal....Which by the way NEVER happened. He had told her this because I guess she wasn't playing so nice with him. Those two don't seem to get along all the time. Well she thought Santa was coming to our house now to drop off her lump of coal, and not coming on Christmas. That's why she refused to do much with Santa, let alone look at him. Thanks Andy.

Santa gave Delaney a present. She opened it and there was her Sleeping Beauty Dress and Tickets to Disney on Ice. She was so excited. After a ton of family pictures Santa left, then Delaney was back to her old self again.

The next day was Disney on Ice....it was awesome! When we got there and was directed to our seats i thought for sure there was a mistake. They put us in the very front row on the ice. I knew we had front row, but I didn't realize we were on the Ice. I thought we were in the 1st row in the actual seats behind the ice. Guess not. I kept telling the man he was wrong, but he insisted I was. So we just sat. We were right on the end of the row. They were great seats. Now I don't feel so bad about the price of them. We were close enough to tell that Tinkerbell had 2 snags in the back of her fishnet hose. When the fairies were coming out Delaney got to high five them. She was in awe.

Let me tell you about "The Snowcone" All Delaney wanted was a snow cone. OK no big deal, I just wanted her to wait til intermission. She was so patient in waiting. As soon as the lights came on she was up outta the chair. We went to take a look at all the $16 junk crowns, or the $18 junk sword. No way was she getting one. two years ago when we went she got this spinner that fell apart within 3 days of the show. I could agree on a snow cone. Then she would have a cup to take home. I was picking the ones with the lids you could close and drink out of. She was thinking the Tinkerbell cup with the huge scope of colored ice on the top. She got it. I carefully carried it down to our seats. Carefully set it on the seat where she could stand and eat the top part before the show started. Guess what I forgot napkins. OK so we'll just be extra careful. Within 5 mins of getting it the show started again. She stood right in front of her chair and was still carefully eating it. Well then here comes Tinkerbell. Delaney was so excited she turned and knocked the $10 snow cone over all over me and the lady next to us. I felt so bad, it went all over this lady's boots. It was all down my legs. Now picture us scrambling to clean it up Delaney crying and a butt load of fairies running by us to get to the Ice. I thought Delaney was going to take one down. She was freaking out as they were running. Thankfully the lady completely understood (even though her 2 yr old boy didn't spill a bit of his) She even gave us diaper wipes and napkins....I think she was a bit peeved, but didn't let it show.

Ava had her VCUG done Monday. Not the best news. Her reflux is alot worse than it was before. When I was about 19 wks pregnant I had the anatomy ultrasound down. They saw that her kidneys were dilated. Since then she's seemed to have a few problems with the reflux. They told us in June that if in Dec it wasn't any better, they would probably go in and make the flap and fix the problem. The reflux can lead to severe kidney damage, so I hope they will spring for the surgery and just fix it. She has been on daily antibiotics which they say is OK because they are using it a prophylactic, but still it would just be easier to fix the problem. Not that I want her to have surgery, but it just seems like that's the right thing to do. We go to another specialist on Jan 8th so I will let you know what this Doc says then.

I hope they got a good look on the test. That test is nasty. That poor girl. She bleed so bad afterwards. I hope she doesn't have to go through that again.

On a funny note...
I had to call the Children's after hours line that night after her test, because of her bleeding. I gave her all Ava's info...name, bdate, corrected age, her list of health issues etc. She asked me if it hurt for her to sit up. I told her she can't sit up, So I really wouldn't know. She asked me if she had any pain with urination, I told her she couldn't talk to tell me, but yes she is extremely fussy. Here's the kicker....Does she have a headache? My response was "Well I hadn't really asked her" Are you kidding me, does she have a headache. Hey Ava do you have a headache? Blink once for yes, and twice for no. The lady was a genius. Since she wasn't too sure about the whole situation she would have to call the Dr and get his opinion....Thank God, because if not we probably been in the ER looking for a brain tumor, when we were calling about the other end!!!

I wish you all a wonderful New Year...Please be safe tonight, no drinking and driving. You put yourself and everyone else at risk. Greg and I have babysitters for tonight....Woop-Woop! I think were going to go park the van somewhere nice and dark....and go to sleep!!! Love Ya'll be safe!
