So this was a BiG week for us. There will be pictures coming soon.
Sunday we went to the Canton Mother's of Multiples Easter Party. Greg really wasn't that excited, actually he was dreading it, but after we left he told me he had a good time, and it was nothing like he had expected. We was however a bit creeped out when we first walked in the door. #1 he couldn't believe how many multiples there were. #2 Somebody recognized him by our blog, then the man also said he had seen Greg driving down the road (he remembered our licence plates) I found it pretty funny, Greg was freaked out. The kids all had a good time, even Miss dramatic Delaney who was upset she had to miss her nap and go have a good time, God forbid. They all say the Easter bunny and got lil gifts from him. The babies got a jar of carrots and a spoon, that was the cutest idea.
Monday was pretty laid back, except for the speeding ticket I received for going the speed limit after pulling out of my driveway. So next Monday I will be fighting that one in court. Seriously I had just pulled out of my driveway started to drive uphill following a friend of mine, who had just pulled out also. The police car was driving the opposite way, then waited to pull me over for a mile on a different road. He came to the window, didn't even tell me why I was being pulled over, all 4 kids were in the car, Delaney was upset that she was going to be late for dance. I got a ticket for 55 in a 35??? I asked to see the radar, he said he forgot to save it....BS, I wasn't going 55 after backing out of my drive and driving uphill following a friend. I will see his ass in court. And to think I voted to keep that police dept in our town....jerk!
Tuesday, Greg's cousin Neal had his tumor in his kidney removed, Greg was pretty freaked out all day. Turns out he did great!
The babies had their well baby check up and they were a year corrected Tuesday. Dylan has pink eye.
Wednesday, Delaney had her Easter Party at school, along with an Easter egg hunt. It was really funny to watch a bunch of 4 and 5 yr olds racing to find ONLY 6 eggs each.
Ryan had his hearing exam. He failed again. There is a definite hearing loss in his left ear. We were all hoping that after his last hearing test, last June that it was just the fluid blocking his hearing, guess not. I'm still a bit down in the dumps about it.
After the hearing test we had PT coming to the house and worked with the kiddos. They were amazed that Dylan is walking. Ryan is still a bit behind the others. He is at a 9-11 month level. Not too bad considering they were 4 months early.
Thursday, I went to the eye Dr for the yearly exam. I was told my eyes are stressed. Really? Just my eyes? ha! So I will be picking up my new eyes in 2 weeks.
Today, Friday, Bad day, I really don't want to talk about it. I will just say anything that can happen, has happened, and the house is a frickin mess.
I still feel really guilty about the babies being born so early. Especially when you go for a well baby visit and you hear they are developmentally delayed. Then a hearing test with a definite loss. I just wish they couldn't have stayed in a bit longer, by like 10 weeks. Delaney just turned on TLC and there's a lady pregnant with triplets who just had her babies at 34 or 36 weeks. And what about the lady with 8, she went 30 wks. I went 24. That's it. I feel like I am the cause to all their health problems and it seems like they are always going to have something going on due to their prematurity. I wish they would just outgrow all these issues. Some days it seems like it's never gonna happen.

Shelly,
I'm a mom of 10 month old triplets and a high school teacher. In one of my classes I have a girl who was born weighing just over a pound. I've talked to her about what she's had to go through to get a feel of what we can expect in our kids future even though our babies were much larger than she was, but still early. You'll be happy to know besides being a little on the petite side she has not had any major health issues since she was a toddler. Let's hope your 3 cuties will be as blessed!
Mary
I am so glad you were able to come to the party. Your husband is not alone, my husband gets freaked out by all the multiples too! Just read a good portion of your blog and I am in AWE of your strength and all that you have gone through. I teared up reading your emotions of feeling how you let your babies down by them coming so early. Keep up the amazing work, I cannot wait to get to know you better!
Shelly,
Don't EVER feel guilty for "only" going 24 weeks. Would 25 be enough? 26? 27? No matter WHEN you delivered, you'd feel guilty...I promise you that. It's how we're wired as Mom's. You did an AWESOME job "growing" those kids. You did EVERYTHING right. EVERYTHING you could. Hang on to that...that you DID go 24 weeks. That you DID "hold them" in that long. You're a champion, Shelly. As a fellow triplet mom...I'm proud of you!
