Let the Roller Coaster Ride Begin

Well here goes....I married Greg June 2, 2001. Shortly after that we found out that I was having early menopause symptoms. We knew we wanted kids, but just not yet. We decided to wait a few years. Over the next few years things seemed to get worse. I wad diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) So we decided that we better start trying now before it gets any worse. We did 2 rounds of Clomid when we found out we were pregnant. Then the very next day I miscarried. Then 4 more rounds of Clomid and we were pregnant again. We had a beautiful daughter named Delaney, who was born in July 2004. We knew we would like to have ONE more baby so we went back to the Dr for some Clomid, after 5 rounds we were pregnant again! This is were the roller coaster begins. At 8 wks I was having horrible pains, we went to the Hospital I figured that I was going to have another miscarriage. Guess not after a few ultrasounds we found out we were pregnant with 3 possibly 4 babies. The 4th baby was actually a cyst on my ovary, which caused the ovary to tip and spin over the tube 3 times. That's what the pain was. I had an emergency surgery at 8:30pm, after which we were told that one baby didn't have a heartbeat anymore. So Twins! I was discharged and a few days later I had to go to a reproductive specialist to check the babies etc. Guess what he found...3 heartbeats! That's the 1st sign of our little fighters. A normal 8 wk fetus would not have made it though that surgery. I had to have nightly progesterone injections to help keep me pregnant. Greg had to give them to me each night, the nurse drew 2 BiG circles on my butt so Greg would remember where to put the shot..it looked like tail lights. Anyway 3 months of shots, Dr's visits every 2 weeks, and more prenatal vitamins they I care to share. Every visit I was told that I needed to reduce, because if I didn't I would more than likely loose them all by 24 wks. I switched Dr's and 2 wks after the switch. At 24 wks and 1 day. I woke up at 3am and my water had broke. Greg raced me to the hospital, they confirmed a hole in Baby A's bag. I was given a steroid shot for the babies lungs in case of labor. Nothing to do but go on the mag, bedrest at the hospital, and pray for at least 4 more weeks. That lasted about 30 hrs. I was in labor the whole time I started having bad contractions around 11pm on Friday night. I also had a fever and was starting to get an infection, I could only lay on one side because every time I would turn my heart rate and O2 would drop and I would start to pass out. At 8:30am Saturday, they checked me one more time, I was almost 7cm dilated and was in hard labor, due to the infection I was send for an emergency C-section. At 9:20 Dylan was born weighing 1 lb 3 oz. 9:20 Ryan was born weighing 1 lb 3 oz and 9:21 Ava was born weighing 1 lb 2 oz. All Greg and I thought was there is no way babies this little live......
